hi - there are some great guides to the benefits of a MA in TESOL online in sites such as www.tesol.org (search for 'masters' and you'll get a list of resources) or www.masters-in-tesol.com (which has a range of guides on choosing and then using your MA)

Also worth considering a M.Ed as an alternative - a Master's in Linguistics is often awarded as an M.Ed.
