I'm from New Plymouth and I taught Tesol in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam in 2011. If you're primary school qualified then you should seek work at a proper international school. The children there will already speak English, so you'd be teaching similar to a NZ curriculum as opposed to TESOL. Please don't teach English. The employers are like hawkers on the tourist trail, unreliable and dishonest. Your colleagues will mostly be semi-literate middle aged men who spend their time getting drunk with hookers/students. Don't do a TESOL certificate or CELTA. They are not real qualifications, just money making machines.
