It is possible that Rudy doesn't know of these course books, or as seen so many on shelves/in catalogues that it is hard to choose which one to use.
My first year of teaching in China I was unaware of anything beyond the university's in-house 'conversation training book', which was toilet paper.

Websites such as Longman, Cambridge Uni Press and Oxford Uni Press all have ELT sections with loads of books.
Famous names, all with lots of supporters and detractors include Cutting Edge, Headway, Murphy's '....in Use' series, and many more.
