In Response To: Good MA Program? (Andrea)

Hi, I'm trying to decide between an MA TESOL program at San Francisco State University which costs $4000 per semester and one at Columbia University which costs $16,000 per semester.

The posts I've read suggest that online MA programs are usually enough to teach at even the best universities in the Middle East, which make me wonder who Columbia's program is geared toward. I'd appreciate your insight!

It's unclear what you're asking. If you're trying to decide between the two unis, then choose the one based on content---the one that meets your career needs---in addition to your budget and expected time frame for completion.

As for the Mid East (Gulf region), it's currently a toss up as to which employers accept degrees earned by distance/online, so I'm not sure where you read that they're "enough to teach at even the best universities." Besides, Mid East employers don't just factor in an applicant's academic degree when making hiring decisions.
