Re: ESL jobs in the US?

I've heard that the demand for ESL teachers in the US is growing. I haven't seen much activity to suggest this on job boards. Can anyone shed some light on whether one would be more likely to get a job in the US as an English language arts teacher versus an ESL teacher?
Everything else aside, what job market is more promising?

You're not going to find info about English language arts (ELA) on an ESL website; ELA and ESL are two completely separate domains, each with different specific teacher requirements/qualifications. Since ELA is taught in a school (k-12) setting, check with your state's department of education's website for the requisite qualifications and teacher licensing as well as the potential for employment. For ESL jobs teaching adult students in the US, there's craigslist. You might also see what's on offer at next week's annual TESOL International's conference and job fair.
