Master's Degree vs. CELTA

Yes, I know this question must have been asked a multitude of times, but I'll go ahead and ask it anyway. Most of the "Master's vs. certificate" questions I have searched get kind of specific as to the particular person, and I want to ask a more general question, so that you are free to use your leeway. Here it is:
In general,if you are interested in working for private schools worldwide, not universities, which is better to have, if you have to choose between a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics or a CELTA? Will a CELTA be just as good?
