In Response To: Teaching ESL for first time with no ESL training.. (Jacob)

Naturally you would be lost in your predicament.

Your situation is like asking a novice EFL teacher to teach members of a Government agency all about defense and security having had no training in that field. LOL. Yikes!!

With that said, you need to ask your school superiors what is the end goal of your language learning students.

Is the emphasis of EFL teaching on oral skills acquistion, reading skills acquisition, or writing skills acquisition?

In a "normal" EFL teaching world all these second language skills are considered important and needed, but because you are in a desperate state, you have no choice but to tackle what your superiors consider to be most important.

With that information search the WEB for EFL teaching materials to help you achieve the more manageable EFL learning target. This is a start and not a total solution.
