Apply anyway stating your true position and see what response you get. Many applicants put qualifications such as "PhD abd" (all but dissertation), as if they are just about to complete, or "Masters" and, when asked, state "there are just some formalities to fulfil" even if that actually means passing the remaining 7 of the necessary 8 units. If you are straight when applying, there is no deception and you may get a position that will help you complete your degree at a higher grade.
