Yes, TEFL employers do like to hire retired teachers to teach ESL/EFL either as paid teachers or as you would like - volunteer.
You would need to be in the country of choice - Korea or China - and begin your search being physically present.
It is very doubtful for a foreign TEFL employer to be spending time with a potential teacher who only wants to commit for four months as you indicate.
You have to understand the time and effort to recruit a teacher for a short period of time costs the TEFL employer as much for a potential teacher committing for longer time such as is normal: a year or two or longer.
