Korea only needs a degree, not ESOL certifications, usually. But if you have some, you van get better jobs and do the job better.
A whole major in TESOL, etc, though does rather limit your later carer options, so I'd suggest;
. doing a degree that interests you
. doing what you need for a degree and not a load of extra papers that cost money but don't count towards a degree
. then using a bit of money at the end for something like a CELTA.
