I'm a total newbie, with zero teaching experience, thinking of taking CELTA. I'm currently in India where the British Council offers the course but I wonder if it's better to take the one offered by IH in Bangkok?
I understand the course itself would be the same, but would it be easier to get a job if I complete it in Bangkok? Being on site, as it were? India doesn't seem to have the same kind of opportunities and it appears more cost effective in Bangkok when you factor in things like accommodation, etc.

Seems like you've answered your own question. If Thailand has more opportunities, is easier on your budget, and you receive the same CELTA course content/quality, then... Just check that you meet the visa requirements to work in Thailand.
