For the majority of entry-level jobs teaching English the school will look at your CV and see if you have a degree and then look and see if you have a TEFL certificate. Some will go no further than that. Other schools will insist on certain types of certification (e.g. from this or that provider) but it won't make much of a difference to the majority in places like China or Southern Europe.
However, the other side is that when YOU step into the classroom to teach you want to know what you're doing.
So make sure the teachers of the TEFL course you're taking are well qualified (MA+) and that you are taking a course which is up to date, etc.
Find out by searching online for reviews of the course you are thinking about taking.
Good luck.
