My partner and I are considering taking a CELTA course then teaching overseas, we are looking at Dubai,Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Japan... pretty open minded, just somewhere we won't struggle with wages and have a reasonable life-style.
We have both already taught without official qualifications, my partner for over 10 years with excellent references, having worked in government departments and for large corporations, but recognise the importance of an internationally recognised qualification such as CELTA.
However, although I have a BA, my partner has not. Does this mean he has no chance at all in the countries I mention?

Definitely a no-go for Dubai; you both lack qualifications/credentials for even entry-level positions. The majority of teachers in the Emirates possess MAs and years of experience gained after their grad degree.
In looking at countries where you both can teach, you'll first need to consider his lack of a BA since it will determine location. (Be aware that the pool of countries with jobs for those without a degree is shrinking.) Anyway, for more info about where the non-degreed can teach, go to the jobs discussion forums link---this topic has been discussed numerous times.
