First off theoretically you need a degree to teach in China. This means that if you don't have a degree regardless of your TEFL qualification you'll be working illegally.
Whilst there are some teachers in China do this (and make regular runs over the border to renew their visa) it can have consequences.
Second, why spend money to go abroad to take your TEFL cert? There's no real advantage I can think of.
Finally there are more legitimate opportunities for teachers without a degree (but a TEFL cert) in other countries. One of these might be more suited.
