Most online MAs I've seen (and other levels of qualification, and in all fields) from universities are the equivalent of on-campus courses and the only differences are that where on campus you might be at a lecture or in a seminar, online you are listening to a recorded lecture, or reading a presentation, and taking part in a secure chat-room forum on Moodle or Blackboard.
This, the physical certificate/diploma does not indicate the delivery method (online, distance, on-campus, etc), as the course/outcome is the same.This might not apply for things like Biology lab. curses where perhaps someone needs to look at your activities each week.
