I am currently looking into TEFL Certification programs, both online and in on-site, and I am having a difficult time knowing which program to go with. I inevitably would like to teach somewhere in Central America, but all of these different programs make it difficult to know what is legitimate and what is not. I am looking for any input on programs that you might have experience with, or how you were able to find placements in Central America.

Do a bit of research; the subject of online TEFL certs has been discussed ad nauseum within this forum. Bascially, an online program isn't worth spending your money on.
I suggest you post your questions on the Latin America jobs discussion forums on this site to find out what qualifications are needed and the best way to land a job in your target country.
