In Response To: Where in the world to get certified? (Zach)

Not to put a damper on your enthusiastic endeavor regarding an "awesome abroad experience" but caution is something to consider.

To enter Japan to teach, you must be in possession of a bona fide university degree in some Program. Trying to enter the country to teach with just a certificate will leave you surprised and shocked.

Teaching legally in Europe will also be problematic for you unless you have EU citizenship.

More and more, East Asian countries also require visa entry requirements to teach such as credible educational background - certificates may not be acceptable.

You would be very wise to research your target destination thoroughly to see what the visa entry requirements are for teaching, and what educational qualifications are essential to pursue your potentially "awesome abroad experience."
