For Europe, you would most definitely need a TEFL certificate - simply because very nearly every would-be teacher on the continent has one, so anything less puts you at a disadvantage. Your medical degrees do not guarantee that you can effectively teach language, of course."
I agree - you may well find roles that can use your experience, but you'd need at least a year's general ESL teaching first - and to do that well you'd need a CELTA or similar...
The ESL experience does not HAVE to be in Europe.
