Teaching core courses in English to a group of students whether they be in primary or secondary school is very different from teaching a second language to the same group of students or adults.
You could benefit from a college or university CTESL program that teaches second language acquisition methods. There are colleges and universities in Canada that offer such Programs. Some Programs are even offered on line.
You may also want to investigate TESL Canada's Web Page. It lists academic institutions that provide exactly what you are seeking.
Going abroad (on line or physically), Australia universities provide some excellent, reputable Masters Programs in teaching ESL/EFL and would probably give you academic credit for some of your Masters education courses.
You could graduate with an M.Ed. specializing in TESOL, teaching English to Students of Other Languages, in a short period of time.
