"Wishborn Global Communication is searching for native English speakers to work as EFL teachers in the city of Fukuchiyama (Kyoto Prefecture) beginning in mid-June, and in the Wakayama Prefecture beginning from late July.
All openings are full-time. The salary is 250,000 yen per month. The EFL/conversation teacher positions will teach students ranging from newborn babies to adults. A university degree and a driver's license are required (international or Japanese) for all positions with WISHBORN"
I did a quick search of Dave's International Job Board looking for EFL teaching jobs in Japan and I found, as the example quoted above states, what you mention is not entirely accurate.
I do not know where your "ton of listings" is referenced, but many EFL teaching jobs in Japan do not require the certification you mention.
Certainly a university degree is required for visa entrance into Japan, which you possess and then some, and teaching experience.
Go to Dave's International Job Board, find a position in Japan, like the above which meets your academic credentials, and apply.
By the way, I am not associated with Wishborn Global Communication.
