I perfectly understand what everyone has mentioned about working "under the radar". What I decided to do, because I didn't want the risk to be very high, was to apply to study a course on something else (in my case, official dance classes) that lasted longer than the 4-week TEFL course. With the dance classes that were a year long, I was able to tramit a student visa and that way, I can be in the EU legally, travel without any issues, get a NIE (foreign ID number), etc. With a student visa a TEFL employer can process a working permit (to work 20-25 hours a week) a lot more easily than the work visa.
Hope this information helps!!!
