"Re-read what I wrote"
Done
"and then try answering again."
I can't see anything different.
You seem to suggest that any old Spaniard on the street will assosicate CELTA with something other than an ESL qualification...fine.
But this discussion is about ESL schools, and worldwide, especially in Europe, if you are talking to one about qualifications, they will know what a CELTA is. Sure there are other certificates, and some good. Many are not. Anyone IN THE FIELD knows which are crappy, and which are good, and the ones that are good that have not been heard of before....some schools don't have time to check into. Why do you need this spelled out? Why the attempt to suggest anyone would view CELTA/TrinityCert TESOL/SIT's Cert/a handful of less-known Universities' Certs as 'just another TESOL, the same as a weekend online thing'?
People not IN THE FIELD might think that, but we are talking about applying to actual schools. The OP was asking about getting a well-known on or a les-well-known one of similar standard - my answer was about THAT, and the pros and cons - re-read my first points before rounding on the certificates themselves (and again questioning how they manage to get beginnners into a classroom with 'some useful skills' in a month...I'd say most equiv. Certs do that well and assume Continuing Professional Development in the job).
