Where do live and where do you want to teach? From what I know, the Oxford Seminars course is a one week course which, to be honest, is not very appealing to an employer. CELTA is OK but as you say, be prepared to pay quite a lot of money and, if you're American, be really careful about where you take it because some centres (as it's a British administered course) treat Americans differently (e.g. they can't spell, don't speak properly, use incorrect grammar etc.) and most importantly, most CELTA centres won't help you find a job at the end of the course. Based on the experience of other CELTA trained teachers, the best you get is a list of schools and a pat on the back. CELTA is a 4 week officially accredited course like quite a few others that are available with lower prices and higher support services. It is no better or worse than the others but it does have a tremendous amount of hype to back it up.
