Your wikipedia page states that you are an Associate Professor of English Language Studies at the New School. Could you please verify if this is correct?
If it is correct, could you please explain how you hold such a title without a doctorate degree? Holders of Masters degrees cannot give equivalent degrees - this can only be done by someone with a PhD.
It is rather odd that only half of the staff on a Master's course actually hold a doctorate degree, and even more unusual that, in the advertising blurbs, the school promotes yourself and Mr Harmer, both holders of Masters degrees. over the doctoral staff.
Your phrase "when WE recruit instructors" could be interpreted as your having a personal stake in the hiring of other staff (then again, it could be used in the royal 'we" sense as well). Are you one of the 'decision makers' for the program?
I am still unsure as to why someone with an unrelated undergraduate degree, despite years of experience on CELTA courses, is delivering (presumably) theoretically-based academic lectures. I also note yet another staff member on the website displaying no academic qualifications at all - simply CELTA and DELTA. Surely these are not sufficient qualifications to bestow Masters degrees with? Could you be kind enough to clarify here?
Oh, on an unrelated topic, since I am here....
Did you write a piece (academic or otherwise) referring to the 'Vygotskyian zone of proximal development where ESL teachers live and work". You were quoted on this site as saying something to that effect and, since you're here, I just wanted to clarify.
