Janet, I understand your doubts, but please understand that not all trainees are like me. As earlier said, I don't blame my tutors or saying that the CELTA is a bad course, just that this wasn't anything for me. I admit I am rigid and like to do things my own way. That's sometimes a strength, but believe me, sometimes also a big flaw in my personality. I am used to students giving praise about my classes, but also students that just can't stand me and want to change class (fortunately the former is far more common than the latter) The thing is, I just can't be someone else than what I am, good and bad. Yes, I maintain that the celta is too rigid and dogmatic, but so I am. However, I didn't have similar problems on my 1 year PGCE course. These courses are obviously different, but I know what I prefer.
Your experience may be different ( it probably will be), but I still maintain that if you want to pass, even enjoy this course, you will have to do exactly what you are told. I trust the trainers do this because they really believe that that's in your best interests, but for some of us it's just to hard.
For the record, I also think that Martins response was fair and rational
