Best Bachelors for a career as an ESL Teacher

Hi all-

I am currently living overseas, and have been teaching English part time for the last 6 years. I don’t have a bachelors or a certificate, and I’m finding that it would be in my best interest and the interest of my students to continue my education in order to be a better teacher and to widen my options of employment in different countries. I enjoy teaching ESL, and I want to make a career out of it.

I am looking at finishing a bachelors online and transferring my available credits. I am a US citizen. I’m looking at several options:

1. BA or BS in English. The options that I have found look slightly more expensive. They also seem to focus more on Literature, which honestly might not be the most exciting thing for me to study. Mostly lesser-known names (newer schools which focus more on online learning, but still with the proper accreditation) which brings me to my second option:

2. BA Liberal arts with a concentration on English. A bit cheaper, slightly more of a variety of classes. I think for me as far as studying, it might be more interesting. Larger Universities with a more recognizable name, usual accreditation.

In the long run, with 6-10 years of teaching experience under my belt, in addition to the BA, would it really make a difference between the 2? Would I have much more job opportunities with the BA English over the Liberal Arts degree? I would also consider getting some sort of ESL certificate afterwards as well if it would help.

I hope to be able to continue to live overseas, work/live in NE Asia, Middle East and/or SE Asia.

I thank you all for your opinions.
