Teaching English in Malaysia

Hi all,
I'm a 44 year old male and English is my first language. I want to do a course to teach English, specifically in Malaysia, but I cannot find which course is recommended, amongst the hundreds of websites and dozens of acronyms.
My ultimate aim is to take private students (mostly my partner's family members of various age groups), but would also seriously consider being taken on by an established school.
I'm confident in a teaching role having given training in computer software, as well as having various public speaking roles.
However, I have no formal degree but have the equivalent of UK A-level (or matric as from South Africa).
A local college near me is offering a CELTA course for £1200 or I can do a Trinity TESOL course through i-to-i mostly online for £400. The cost difference is significant, but really I want what is best for me and for the students I may potentially teach, as well as what will satisfy the Malaysian Visa authorities to allow me there in the first place.
I will be grateful for any advice given. Thanks
