In Response To: Re: lambert university (Fred Zimmer)

What Fred says is true but it doesn't take 8 years to go for accreditation. I once ran an unaccredited university and have sympathy for genuine organisations trying to get accredited. However that was long ago when US states like Arizona had no processes to distinguish newly formed genuine institutions from degree mills. Fortunately now there are structures in place that allow newly registered universities to get some sort of official sanction before they are fully accredited.

If you look at Lambert University's website it gives no good reason why it is avoiding the accreditation process. I myself am involved in setting up a distance university in the USA and I find it surprising that Lambert hasn't bothered to seek accreditation from DETC, which is not an expensive process at all. Avoiding accreditation is a disservice to students.
