Paul is right. Very few unis do not require you to have a Masters and publications. There are exceptions for everything. I am one of these exceptions in fact, but of the other 50-100 other profs I've met in Japan teaching in unis, I don't know of any others. Rarely, I see ads for uni jobs in Japan that do not ask for a masters, but the pay is no better than an eikaiwa (conversation school).
